Individual Services

Individual therapy allows the client an opportunity to explore and resolve personal problems in a one-to-one setting. The approach is usually intensive, brief, problem specific, with short-term goals, such as problem resolution, decision making or reducing the effects of a symptom. Outcomes are based on measureable goals.

Group Therapy

Group therapy allows clients to share their personal and interpersonal problems in a group setting where feedback can be given and received among group members. Through this process, clients have the opportunity to develop support systems, rehearse new ways to interact with others and recognize the impact of their behavior on themselves and others.

DBT

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is offered for adults whose self-harming thought and behaviors grossly interfere with their functioning. Through weekly psychotherapy sessions, we teach methods for coping with these sudden intense surges of emotion.  We teach adaptive behaviors and reinforce those behaviors to help manage emotional crises. In weekly DBT group sessions, clients learn interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance/reality acceptance skills, emotion regulation, and mindfulness skills.

Family Therapy

Our family programs help families cope with the challenges of emotional disturbances and mental illness within members of the family.  Our family therapy program provides direct and meaningful contact with the nuclear family on a regular basis and helps with conflicts within the family when they are viewed as part of the presenting problem.

Psychiatric Evaluations

Our psychiatric staff conduct psychiatric evaluations to assess a person's need for medications.

Medication Management

Psychiatric services are available for prescriptions, medication adjustment, and monitoring. In addition clients are educated in proper medication usage, intended benefits and adverse effects of medications, and on the importance of consistency in taking medications to control the symptoms of mental illness.

Case Management Services

Case management services are provided to help clients access other community support systems and to coordinate treatment services. An assessment helps determine what community resources the client needs. Case management services are provided through linkage, advocacy, service planning, follow-up, monitoring, and crisis management.

Nursing Home Services

OBRA evaluations assess the mental health needs for individuals who are or will be placed in nursing homes. Referrals for OBRA screenings are made to the OBRA Coordinator who assigns trained evaluators to assess individuals at private homes, hospitals and local nursing homes. Clinical staff make treatment recommendations and may also provide consultation to nursing homes.
